Daily Hedgehog Report for Tuesday, October 31, 2006

Tuesday, October 31st, 2006

Good morning, Seattle! Of course, I was born in Yakima, Washington, but Seattle is my home. Sometimes I wonder why I like running in that wheel so much. I mean, it feels like I ran 358 feet last night, but I really didn’t go anywhere! Maybe it’s the squeaking sound I like. By the time I got it up to 0.39 feet per second, it was almost constantly squeaking. I bet Ben and Eva are glad they don’t have to listen to all my squeaking at 7:25 PM. I thought maybe if I ran really hard I could actually get somewhere, but after running for 12 minutes continuously (that’s 147 feet at a hedgehog’s speed) I finally gave up. I’m pretty happy here anyway. Man, that was a full day. I even got a treat of a delicious meal worm this morning! I think I ate it too fast though… I want another.

Of course, what daily report would be complete without a graph. It’s in the full post.

Pliny with DualShock

Ah, what better way to start the day than with a yawn, a stretch, a good quill shake, and blog post? I’ve always felt that exercise is important. I went through my standard workout last night around 1:33 AM. 212 feet in total, with a 4 minute dash in the middle that covered 53 feet. I checked the monitor afterwards, and I had managed to hit 0.51 feet per second at one point! Anyway, I’ve found this one spot under my wheel where I can wedge myself and nobody can get me out - ha! If you want me during the day, that’s where you’ll find me, but I’m not coming out.

I almost forgot - if you view the full post, there’s a nifty chart!

Sunday, October 29th, 2006

Ah, what better way to start the day than with a yawn, a stretch, a good quill shake, and blog post? Last night I really had an itch to run. But when I got in my wheel, I just couldn’t find the energy. I ended up pacing up and down the ramps between the ground level and the top floor. Then, sometime around 1:56 AM, it clicked. I raced over to the wheel and ran for 9 minutes, covering 143 feet. I even hit a speed of 0.43 feet per second. All in all, I clocked in at 143 feet last night, which is pretty good. Just goes to show you have to stick with it. Man, that was a full day. I even got a treat of a delicious meal worm this morning! I think I ate it too fast though… I want another.

Of course, what daily report would be complete without a graph. It’s in the full post.

'Hogpocket

Man. What a awful day. I startled myself, and then accidentaly poked my nose with a quill when I curled up. Do you have any idea how much that smarts! Well, to be fair, the rest of the day wasn’t that bad. Sometimes I wonder why I like running in that wheel so much. I mean, it feels like I ran 199 feet last night, but I really didn’t go anywhere! Maybe it’s the squeaking sound I like. By the time I got it up to 0.39 feet per second, it was almost constantly squeaking. I bet Ben and Eva are glad they don’t have to listen to all my squeaking at 12:18 AM. I thought maybe if I ran really hard I could actually get somewhere, but after running for 4 minutes continuously (that’s 61 feet at a hedgehog’s speed) I finally gave up. I’m pretty happy here anyway. I think I definitely deserve a crunchy meal worm after all this, but I know I’ll probably have to make due with water and cat food.

As usual, a chart after the break.

Blanket 'Hog

Good morning, Seattle! Of course, I was born in Yakima, Washington, but Seattle is my home. Last night I really had an itch to run. But when I got in my wheel, I just couldn’t find the energy. I ended up pacing up and down the ramps between the ground level and the top floor. Then, sometime around 11:35 AM, it clicked. I raced over to the wheel and ran for 3 minutes, covering 44 inches. I even hit a speed of 0.04 feet per second. All in all, I clocked in at 105 inches last night, which is pretty good. Just goes to show you have to stick with it. It was quite a workout. I hope you read my blog again tomorrow - maybe I’ll even top today’s run!

I almost forgot - if you view the full post, there’s a nifty chart!
