Hog Blog

I’ve been hiding under my log all day, but I have to be diligent in my blog posting. The world must know of my efforts! I’ll let you in on a little secret. I only run when Ben and Eva aren’t looking! But I got some time in tonight while they were sleeping. I managed to get 529 feet (0.10 miles!) in before I heard a noise and decided it wasn’t safe anymore. It’s a pity too, since I had been running for 18 minutes (that one clocked in at 248 feet before I had to hide). They should be sleeping at 4:36 AM! I was even wheeling around at 0.4 feet per second at one point. *sigh* I think I definitely deserve a crunchy meal worm after all this, but I know I’ll probably have to make due with water and cat food.

Another day, another hedgehog report! No day is complete without one. I’ll let you in on a little secret. I only run when Ben and Eva aren’t looking! But I got some time in tonight while they were sleeping. I managed to get 266 feet in before I heard a noise and decided it wasn’t safe anymore. It’s a pity too, since I had been running for 5 minutes (that one clocked in at 51 feet before I had to hide). They should be sleeping at 3:20 AM! I was even wheeling around at 0.34 feet per second at one point. *sigh* I’m pretty tired after all that excercise though, and hedgehogs are nocturnal anyway. So it’s time for me to curl up and go to sleep.

Another day, another hedgehog report! No day is complete without one. I’ve always felt that exercise is important. I went through my standard workout last night around 2:06 AM. 459 feet in total, with a 9 minute dash in the middle that covered 118 feet. I checked the monitor afterwards, and I had managed to hit 0.4 feet per second at one point! I’m pretty tired after all that excercise though, and hedgehogs are nocturnal anyway. So it’s time for me to curl up and go to sleep.

Another day, another hedgehog report! No day is complete without one. Sometimes I wonder why I like running in that wheel so much. I mean, it feels like I ran 421 feet last night, but I really didn’t go anywhere! Maybe it’s the squeaking sound I like. By the time I got it up to 0.4 feet per second, it was almost constantly squeaking. I bet Ben and Eva are glad they don’t have to listen to all my squeaking at 9:24 PM. I thought maybe if I ran really hard I could actually get somewhere, but after running for 6 minutes continuously (that’s 85 feet at a hedgehog’s speed) I finally gave up. I’m pretty happy here anyway. I’m pretty tired after all that excercise though, and hedgehogs are nocturnal anyway. So it’s time for me to curl up and go to sleep.

Man. What a awful day. I startled myself, and then accidentaly poked my nose with a quill when I curled up. Do you have any idea how much that smarts! Well, to be fair, the rest of the day wasn’t that bad. Sometimes I wonder why I like running in that wheel so much. I mean, it feels like I ran 117 feet last night, but I really didn’t go anywhere! Maybe it’s the squeaking sound I like. By the time I got it up to 0.27 feet per second, it was almost constantly squeaking. I bet Ben and Eva are glad they don’t have to listen to all my squeaking at 5:55 AM. I thought maybe if I ran really hard I could actually get somewhere, but after running for 3 minutes continuously (that’s 39 feet at a hedgehog’s speed) I finally gave up. I’m pretty happy here anyway. Man, that was a full day. I even got a treat of a delicious meal worm this morning! I think I ate it too fast though… I want another.
